Due to concerns over the new Omicron variant of coronavirus, mask-wearing has become compulsory again in England for some settings, including shops and public transport.

The government advises that:

“In other indoor settings where a face covering is not legally required, you should still continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with other people you do not normally meet.”

Lewes Town Council thanks residents and proprietors for adhering to and encouraging the wearing of face-coverings.

The Town Hall, All Saints Centre and Malling Community Centre, continue to operate at 75% capacity in order to maintain a level of social distancing. Good practice by attendees of these centres is encouraged (an element of social distancing, regular hand washing, masks-wearing, etc) and any further action will be advised accordingly.
