Work began on 16th March 2021 on the long-awaited refurbishment of one of the town’s best-loved community halls. Malling (Bridgeview) Community Centre was built in the early 1970’s and has been used by a host of clubs; societies, sports clubs and the local community but it is in desperate need of modernization. Local builders Cheesmurs Ltd won the contract from the Council to carry out a complete refurbishment that includes a state-of-the-art ground source heat pump system and photovoltaic panels to provide environment-friendly heating and power; completely new electrical wiring and plumbing, and an improved room layout that will offer, among other benefits, more flexible spaces and a small café/bar and terrace.
