Lewes Town Council wishes to share congratulations to all of the Civic Award winners for 2024, who received their awards at our Annual Town Meeting on Wednesday night.
Awards went to:
⭐️ Lewes Repair Cafe for offering a pay as you feel repair service, reducing impact on landfill, saving people money and improving community resilience and cohesion.
⭐️ Lewes for Ukraine for supporting the many households who welcomed Ukrainian guests to settle and receive support in the Lewes area and establish their own local communities
⭐️ Peter Masters, chair of Lewes Athletics Club, for his work with the club which he has chaired for 40 years and is stepping down from this year, at the age of 82
⭐️ Louise Mayers for voluntarily representing the residents of Malling Down during the incredibly long and disruptive Earwig Corner roadworks as well as much other community co-ordination.
⭐️ Lewes Community Fridge for incredible work done to reduce food waste in Lewes
Lewes Town Council was so happy to recognise some of the incredible work that’s done in our community and makes the town such a special and unique place to live. We hope everyone enjoyed our glitzy backdrop!
