Venue Assistants

We’re recruiting for two organised and efficient individual to join our team in the role of Venue Assistant at Lewes Town Council.

These roles are split across our three community venues (All Saints Centre, Malling Community Centre and Lewes Town Hall) – keeping them clean, tidy, and in good repair while also assisting customers and sharing some of the administrative work.

The role is varied, working on a rota which can include split shifts and we are looking for people who are friendly, customer focused and who are happy getting on with whatever needs doing. Successful applicants will take pride in keeping the centres and their equipment clean and tidy, and will remember to order the loo rolls!

This might be the role for you if you’ve got hospitality experience, caretaking abilities, and are looking for a challenge in helping us evolve these beloved buildings.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Customer service experience including good phone manner
  • Experience with public venues, including cleaning and setting up for events and groups (please note this position includes some physical work)
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 suite, Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint
  • An excellent ability to work calmly under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • A positive, friendly, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours to cover evening and weekend shifts as well as weekday shifts.
