Cleaners
Lewes Town Council is looking for enthusiastic, energetic cleaners to work at its three iconic community venues in Lewes.
These roles involve day-to-day cleaning at our community venues: Lewes Town Hall, All Saints Centre and Malling Community Centre – keeping them clean, tidy, and in good repair.
We are looking for three cleaners, one to be responsible for each venue, although cover and large events may require work at other locations from time to time. This is a flexible position, with a rota to be agreed to suit schedules which can include split shifts.
All of our buildings include a working office suite, and function as public cultural venues for artistic and dramatic performances, displays and exhibitions, public meetings and events, and council and civic functions. These buildings are used daily by the public, and we are looking for cleaners to help us present them at the high standard expected.
We’re looking for experienced cleaners who aren’t afraid to take on a challenge. Two of our venues (Lewes Town Hall and All Saints Centre) are historic Grade 2 listed buildings, providing a fascinating workspace to look after and be proud of. The role also includes responsibility for opening up and locking the buildings, as well as being friendly to deal with members of the public you might meet while on the job.
